In more detail

Overlooking the lagoon, with an Olympic-sized swimming pool, red-clay tennis courts and framed by the renowned Casanova Gardens, guests would be forgiven for simply indulging in the hotel’s extravagant amenities. There’s a sense of old-world charm, but it lies alongside features that evoke modern luxury, with sprawling king-sized beds strewn with gold and red plush furnishings, lavish white marble bathrooms and private terraces. Rooms are evocative of Italian Rococo design, ranging from a simple and refined Venetian style with gold-gilded mirrors to luxury suites featuring Coromandel screens, lagoon vistas and even personal plunge pools.

Oro is the first of four superb dining options, where dishes such as caviar risotto, veal sweetbread and rockfish and oyster soup are seamlessly complimented with a vast array of fine Italian wines among opulent red velvet furnishings and Venetian artwork. Or, sample the likes of salt cod and fresh duck ragout pasta on the al fresco decking of Cip’s Club, accompanied by the gentle splash of passing gondolas. Then there’s the poolside restaurant for carpaccio and a cocktail overlooking the lagoon, the authentic trattoria of Giudecca 10, or even the option to dine on an outside shared table among the vineyards. Enjoy post-dinner indulgence with an expertly-mixed Negroni in the lavish Piano Bar or poolside Gabbiano.

And the charms of Venice lie just moments away, with complimentary shuttle services to its countless splendours. Head on sailing trips to the Venetian Lagoon, discovering much-unexplored ports; stroll through antique wineries, enjoying a sample or two; kayak among Venice’s emblematic canals; and amble along lively streets to explore the bacari, authentic wine bars teeming with Venetians who meet over a fine wine. After a day among the waterways, town squares and red roofs of the city, there’s the stupendous Casanova spa. In the midst of the very gardens that Casanova once roamed, unwind in the sauna and steam room and enjoy a romantic couple’s treatment surrounded by verdant greenery.
