Silversea's Silver Origin is a cruise ship built for adventure. And, from its elegant Italian design to its intuitive public spaces, we also think it's truly luxurious. Every sailing on Silver Origin is special; you'll spend your days swimming with giant turtles and kayaking past lava tubes, and your evenings dining on delicious multi-course meals and drinking fine wines. This area of the world boasts some of the most extraordinary wildlife and stunning volcanic landscapes, meaning every voyage will be one of discovery and wonder.

The Ship: Silver Origin

The first destination-specific ship built by Silversea, Silver Origin is inspired by the region it sails. The Galápagos Islands are a protected natural area, the largest National Park in Ecuador, which is why Silver Origin is engineered to minimise her impact on the environment. As one of only two ships sailing in the Galápagos featuring dynamic positioning, without an anchor to damage the sea bed, the delicate underwater ecosystem is protected. And, with the highest Zodiac-to-guest ratio in the region, you'll still be able to reach the hidden corners and tucked away coves of the archipelago on excursions.

Life onboard

The ship's interior features Silversea's definitive Italian-inspired design along with intuitive public spaces to tie your experience together. Basecamp, your meeting point for Zodiac excursions, features an interactive wall that acts as an information HQ, covering the rich history and native flora and fauna of the Galápagos Islands. The Explorer Lounge, with both interior and exterior zoning, is the perfect place to share stories of your adventures or listen to a live pianist over an exotic cocktail. After a busy day of activities, we recommend visiting the indulgent onboard Spa & Salon to recharge with a massage or ascending to the upper stargazing deck to take advantage of a clear night sky.

All-suite accommodation

The all-suite accommodation onboard Silver Origin is focused on making the most of the world outside your window. Ocean-view bathtubs, balcony showers and pioneering Horizon Balcony technology let you immerse yourself in the beauty of the Pacific Ocean from the comfort of your suite. Your room comes with unlimited WiFi and interactive TVs, but we think you'll find switching off easy in your dedicated sitting area designed to maximise your ever-changing view. And, regardless of category, every luxurious suite comes with a personal butler service to cater to your every desire.

The Galápagos Islands

The Gálapagos Islands are located around 1,000km off the coast of Ecuador, forming a unique archipelago forged from ancient volcanos and surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Pacific Ocean. This corner of the world is perhaps best known for its spectacular native wildlife, that in many cases cannot be found anywhere else on Earth. From giant turtles to rays and sharks, the waters of the Galápagos are teeming with fascinating marine life, making it the ideal destination for snorkelling, diving and swimming. Rugged volcanic terrain makes the region an adventurer's paradise, with lava tunnels and plateaus forming alien landscapes both above and below ground. And of course, white sandy beaches and crystal clear shallows allow for lazy days spent shoreside, spotting brightly-coloured birds and soaking up the sun. As a holiday destination, we believe the Galápagos has it all.

Excursions and Exploration

Silversea pair all their Galápagos itineraries with a host of included excursions to maximise your time on the islands. Sailings on Silver Origin for 2020 feature a variety of activity styles, all coordinated by your onboard Expeditions Team and local Ecuadorian experts. Worth noting is the fact that there's one guide on board for every 10 guests, offering you a truly personal experience tailored to your tastes. Many shore excursions begin by Zodiac boat, taking you directly from the ship to the sandy shores of an island or to discover a hidden cove. From there, you might take a guided walk, head out on a kayak paddle, or perhaps hike to a scenic lookout. In the water, expect ample opportunities to swim, snorkel and dive with marine animals like rays, turtles and sea lions. You'll even be able to get up close with otherworldly volcanic landscapes, with visits to lava tubes and rocky outcrops along the way. And, if there's a particular experience you're interested in, let us know in advance of your voyage and we can plan it just for you.
