Day 1

Arrive at Arctic Panorama Resort

On arrival in Rovaniemi, the gateway to Finnish Lapland, a private transfer will whisk you away to Arctic Panorama Resort, tucked away among the forested slopes of Ounasvaara fell. Enjoy a welcome drink and collect your thermal outdoor clothing before settling into your stylish, timber-clad cabin with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer uninterrupted views of your snow-blanketed surroundings. You may then wish to relax in the sauna or the Jacuzzi, which you’ll have access to throughout your stay.

Then, it’s time for your first delicious buffet dinner at the Panorama Restaurant, which serves seasonal Lappish dishes with a Mediterranean twist. Before calling it a night, be sure to take a look outside to see if the Northern Lights are active – as Arctic Panorama Resort lies beneath the auroral oval, it’s an excellent place to see this awe-inspiring natural phenomenon. You can also opt in to a Northern Lights alert service so you don’t miss a show.

Day 2

Snowmobile safari & Northern Lights hunt by reindeer sleigh ride

Tuck into a hearty buffet breakfast this morning as you prepare for an exciting day of winter adventures. First up, you’ll try your hand at snowmobiling, venturing out on a two-hour ride that’ll see you weave between snow-laden forests and frozen lakes. Typically, two people will share a snowmobile, with one person driving and the other sitting behind, with an opportunity to switch roles along the way. Bear in mind that you must be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid driver’s license in order to operate a snowmobile, while children aged 5-13 (and those less than 140cm in height) will sit in a sleigh pulled by the guide’s snowmobile. Children aged less than 10 must be accompanied in the sled by an adult.

Following some time to rest and recharge back at base, you’ll set off for a magical evening adventure searching for Northern Lights by reindeer sleigh ride. You’ll need a little luck regarding the weather conditions, but if the skies are clear, there’s a good chance you’ll be able to see the aurora cast its ethereal glow in the night sky. After this mesmerising experience, warm up with a hot berry juice and a traditional Finnish pastry as you return to Arctic Panorama Resort.

Day 3

Husky sledding & private sauna

Fresh from the thrill of snowmobiling and (hopefully) seeing the Northern Lights, today presents the chance to experience another classic Lappish winter activity: husky sledding. You’ll be picked up from your accommodation and driven to the starting point of your excursion, where you’ll meet the energetic huskies and receive an introduction to the art of ‘mushing’ (steering a sled). Once your team of huskies is all harnessed up and ready to go, you’ll set off on an exhilarating journey of around 6-10 kilometres, stopping en route for hot juice and cookies.

Later on, back at Arctic Panorama Resort, we’ve arranged a private sauna session, which includes exclusive use of the sauna, along with a face mask, a foot bath, sparkling water and snacks. If time allows, and you’ve got the energy for it, you may also wish to book an additional excursion, such as ice fishing, snowshoe hiking or ice karting. In the evening, savour one final dinner at the Panorama Restaurant and see if you can catch another sighting of Northern Lights.
