In more detail

Sprinkled along the white sandy beach or on stilts above the sparkling Indian Ocean waters, villas offer direct beach or lagoon access and blend contemporary furnishings with traditional rattan and darkwood elements for a natural feel. The over-water terraces, hammocks and private infinity pools offered by the Over Water Villas are the ultimate in romance, while Beach Villas are cocooned by coconut trees and offer private terraces and open-air Jacuzzis. For families or those who want extra space, the Residences go one up, mixing in separate living rooms, terraces with day beds and private infinity pools – some with two or even four bedrooms.

Dining doesn't disappoint, with many ingredients plucked directly from the resort’s own organic farm, showcased in the likes of open-air seafood grills, poolside pizzas and pastas and fine Asian fusion in five exquisite venues. The oceanfront, open-air Lagoon Bar is an ideal spot for a post-dinner aperitif – perhaps in the form of a varietal from the resort’s very own wine cellar. You can always design your very own bespoke evening, of course, whether you want to dine on a private sandbank or on your own sunset boat trip.

From therapeutic massages to skincare rituals, the Ayurvedic therapists at the resort's Merana Spa offer personalised treatments specific to your needs, idyllic overwater treatment rooms and a stunning outdoor wellness area featuring a Jacuzzi, plunge pool, sauna and steam room.

Exploring the UNESCO-protected reef is a must, whether that's snorkelling among the shallows to spotting whale sharks and manta rays at nearby Hanifaru Bay with an expert diver, alongside parasailing, kayaking, sunset fishing and dolphin cruises – and even the chance to join in with the resort's marine biologist's conservation expeditions. Then, the yoga pavilion, excellent kid's club, fitness centre, tennis courts, volleyball, badminton courts and games room – open 24 hours a day – ensure that everyone is catered for.
