Alison is a seasoned traveller with over three decades of experience exploring the globe. She has ventured to over 90 countries across continents, including Asia, North America, Africa, the Caribbean, Europe and beyond. Her heart lies in Africa, where she has recently embarked on thrilling gorilla and chimpanzee treks in Uganda and Rwanda. A safari expert, Alison's knowledge of Botswana, South Africa, Namibia, Zambia, and Kenya is unparalleled, while a fly-safari in Tanzania saw her explore some of the country's most celebrated national parks. India, too, holds a special place in her heart. She is captivated by its vibrant culture, exquisite cuisine, majestic palaces and serene backwaters. Spotting Bengal tigers on Madhya Pradesh's renowned tiger circuit remains a highlight.
She has also experienced some of the world's most prestigious rail journeys, including Africa's Rovos and Blue Train, and the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. Her knowledge of luxury cruises is also extensive. She has explored the Arctic twice, including a memorable encounter with a polar bear in Spitsbergen and a sailing from Baffin Island to Greenland's Ilulissat Icefjord where she spotted breaching whales. Alison has also sailed the iconic Mekong River between Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City, adding to her rich tapestry of travel experiences.
