A stay here is all about embracing nature, with a programme of privately guided adventures making the absolute most of the pristine surroundings. Indeed, the Fjellborg family has lived in the region for some 300 years, and the current generation will use every ounce of their local knowledge and expertise to provide a truly unforgettable break. Best of all, however, is that during your stay you’ll enjoy exclusive use of the lodge’s Master Cabin, assuring a completely exclusive experience in one of northern Sweden’s most idyllic wilderness locations.

In more detail

Warm, inviting and wonderfully stylish, Fjellborg’s Master Cabin accommodation is a genuine home away from home and the perfect base for evening relaxation after days spent in nature. On the ground floor, you’ll find a spacious entertaining area, complete with cosseting sofas and a log-burning stove, as well as three beautifully appointed bedrooms, with queen-size beds and extra bunks on top, perfect for families. Meanwhile, on the first floor, the master suite offers the best in king-size luxury as well as large windows overlooking the lake. It’s a view shared by the bedrooms downstairs, and indeed the private sauna. There’s even a private hot tub, located right on the frozen water’s edge.

Dining is fresh, seasonal and delicious, with daily-changing menus prepared by a private chef and served either in the Master Cabin or on the dining room at the main lodge. Expect the likes of locally sourced fish and game served alongside fresh vegetables and berries and mushrooms from the surrounding forest. And, if you’ve spent the day ice fishing, they’ll even prepare your own catch of the day.

Most impressive here, however, are the excursions, which range from dog sledding – the lodge has its own team of huskies – to ice sculpting and snowmobile adventures under the Northern Lights. There’s also the chance to meet local reindeer herders, get acquainted with the local Samí culture or go snowshoeing on remote forest trails.
