  • The hotel's own curated list of tours and experiences are outstanding, such as the temple visits on their own vintage remorque
  • Drinking cocktails surrounded by twinkling candles on the roof terrace
  • The discreet but incredibly attentive and thoughtful staff who anticipate your needs before they arise – from having a bath run when you get back from day's sightseeing to afternoon tea and cakes served daily

Amansara is an oasis of calmness and serenity featuring 24 architect-designed suites set around an elegant swimming pool in beautifully landscaped gardens. With the feel of an upscale private residence, the resort is finished in earthy hues, with cool grey floors and dark-wood furniture against ivory walls with sandstone reliefs that reference the ruins of Wat Angkor.

In more detail

The ultra-stylish Amansara Resort was designed by French architect Laurent Mondet in 1962 as a guest residence for King Sihanouk. Now favoured by the A-list and recipient of many awards, this boutique hotel is without question the best in town. Featuring 24 uber-cool suites, the facilities in this noble retreat include two beautiful pools, a library, spa and relaxing roof garden as well as a circular restaurant serving a mixture of Khmer and international cuisine. The open-plan suites, half of which have their own private plunge pool, feature floor to ceiling glass doors that open onto private courtyards with cushioned banquettes.
