And, this comprehensive itinerary showcases it all in the utmost style. Day 1

Depart the UK

Start in style with a premium lounge to relax in before your flight to Tanzania

Day 2

Arrive to the coffee of Arusha

You’ll be met on arrival by a private driver, who’ll take you into the heart of vibrant Arusha where lively markets, music and a pulsating atmosphere unfold against the iconic silhouette of Mt. Kilimanjaro. In contrast, at Lake Duluti Lodge, all is serene on the shores of a silvery lake. But, it’s just as quintessentially Africa, with gorgeous views of a coffee farm and accommodation that comes in the form of luxurious rondavels, complete with vast decks.

Take a canoe out over the crater lake, or a hike along the rim, where the forest fades away to allow glimpses of Mt. Meru and Kilimanjaro.

Days 3 – 4

The magic of Manyara

Today, included transfers and a short flight will see you to Lake Manyara and your luxury tree lodge – the only accommodation in its wildlife reserve. Here, just 10 suites are set among ancient mahogany, each host to vast decks, freestanding baths and outdoor showers. Your included twice-daily game drives will bring you out in search of the famous tree-climbing lions while eagles soar overhead and elephants, leopards and hyenas dot plains and forests.

It’s all backdropped by the shimmering soda lake and its Great Rift Valley escarpment – a striking sight even without the flamingos and pelicans. You’ll return to all-inclusive drinks and fine dining, served around the boma campfire or to treetop forest views.

Days 5 – 6

Ngorongoro Crater – a Jurassic world

Your included transfer to Ngorongoro is broken up by game drives along the way, bringing you to one of Africa’s most extraordinary safari lodges. Positioned on high, your all-inclusive drinks and fine dining are dished up to spectacularly verdant views over the entire crater. The butler-served rooms are equally impressive; designed as Maasai manyatta mud huts, they combine rustic charm with chandeliers, roll-top baths, antiques and crystal galore.

There’s wildlife galore, too, with your included Big-Five game drives bringing you among it all. Well-watered and steep-sided, the caldera is a home the animals don’t tend to leave, with elephants, black-maned lions and even the rare black rhino among the highlights.

Days 7 – 9

Grumeti and the Great Migration

Bookended by included transfers, your next flight hop will bring you to the Serengeti’s Grumeti River, its banks dotted with only eight chandelier-lit safari tents, each served by a personal butler. Whether it’s from your private deck, on included game drives or while enjoying the all-inclusive drinks and gourmet dining, it’s the perfect place to take in one of the natural world’s wonders – the Great Migration.

Between May and July, thousands of wildebeest fjord the river, beset by Africa’s largest crocodiles. But, wildlife proliferates all year round, with pool views of hippos bathing in the lodge’s waterhole and everything from cheetahs to leopards feasting on zebras, giraffe and buffalo.

Depart for UK

A last game drive en route to the airstrip will see you to your flight back to Arusha. You’ll bet met here by a private driver who’ll bring you to Mt. Kilimanjaro Airport for your overnight flight back to the UK. There’s also the highly recommended option of concluding your safari with a private-island getaway to Mnemba, a palm-fringed jewel just off Zanzibar.

Here, white sands look out to crystal-clear waters as rich in wildlife as the Serengeti. And, after kayaking, diving and cruising on traditional dhows, you’ll return to everything from gourmet dining and the private beachfront of your timber cottage.
