Highlights

  • Relax by the fire with drinks and canapés
  • Enjoy gorgeous lake views from your room
  • Upgrade to a deck-side hot tub
  • Unwind with a massage or on the private beach

This whitewashed mansion dates back to the 1930s, giving it a tranquil air of a historic country getaway, not least for its spectacular perch right on the shores of Lake Rotorua. It’s a view taken in by stretching gardens, an elegant lounge and polished suites, some of which feature their very own sundeck, complete with hot tub. It even has a private beach, while a day spa and indulgent kitchen round off the facilities.

In more detail

Wrapped in almost three hectares of luscious grounds, Peppers on the Point is something of an idyllic rural retreat. Along with the aforementioned private beach, exclusive paths make for delightful walks between fishing spots and the tennis court – a constant favourite. Further relaxation can be found back indoors. The open fires of the large entertaining room, the timber-panelled dining rooms and quiet library all exude a certain old-world charm.

Speaking of dining, the restaurant alone is reason enough to visit. Using only the freshest in local produce, the chef produces some truly fantastic creations. Think four-course dinners paired with internationally acclaimed wines from the lodge’s cellar. The drinks and canapés are an extra delight, taken either by the fire or out on the terrace. You can also choose to enjoy your meal anywhere from the lake shore to the intimacy of your suite.

While the lodge’s onsite day spa offers a full range of treatments and the gymnasium is well equipped, you’ll have to tear yourself away from your plush room. With all-suite accommodation, each offering comes with its own lounge, along with the likes of wrought-iron chandeliers and spa baths. All come with gorgeous views of the lake, while upgrades add in grand balconies, deck-side private hot tubs and multi-bedroom villas.
