Touching down in Australia’s largest city, a private transfer will bring you to one of its finest hotels – the Shangri-La. Here, luxury rooms, sundecks and 36th-floor bars make the most of its waterside setting with spectacular views of the harbour and city. As such, you’ll be perfectly poised to explore Sydney’s next-door icons; wander along the shore past the Harbour Bridge and Opera House to reach the gorgeous Royal Botanic Gardens.

There’s also always the boho-chic and acclaimed surf of Bondi Beach. However, Sydney is much more than golden-sands good looks, with bustling markets, a happening arts scene and a collection of innovative restaurants vying for your attention.

Days 6 – 8

Uluru’s sunsets and Aboriginal heritage

Flying in over the Outback’s sublime expanse, bookend your included flight with private transfers to arrive into the superb Sails in the Desert resort. Aboriginal artwork, concept barbecues, hiking trails and private terraces make the most of its privileged location; it’s set at the gateway to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. To get your bearings, we’ve included a guided trip to Uluru where you’ll uncover the indigenous myth and legend behind this cultural icon as its signature red glows under the setting sun.

The Great Barrier Reef

Your next included flight, again between included private transfers, will see you to tropical Port Douglas, the springboard for trips into the Great Barrier Reef. Here, palm trees are taller than any building, fringing white sands and your luxury apartment’s flawlessly contemporary style. You’ll then be introduced to the Great Barrier Reef with an included sunset cruise cruise.

Sailing out to the pristine Low Isles, glass-bottom boat trips, marine biologist-led snorkelling excursions, a delicious afternoon tea, canapés and sundowner cocktails will help showcase this UNESCO-listed wonder’s spectacular underwater world of coral, turtles and brightly coloured fish.

Return to the UK
