In more detail

Though it is the largest resort in Kovalam, the Leela manages to preserve an air of seclusion and exclusivity, set in acres of lush grounds atop a rocky promontory on the cliffs above the pristine Keralan coastline. Easy to get to, just 20 minutes from the international airport and railway station at Trivandrum, you’ll soon feel right at home in this luxurious enclave on the Arabian Sea. Choose from Garden or Sea View Pavilion Rooms in the main building or at beach level, which are decorated in a traditional Keralan style with gorgeous private sundecks, or upgrade to the Club Rooms & Suites which are sleek and modern in design and benefit from personal butler service and exclusive access to the Club’s private check-in and a separate pool and gym.

There’s an excellent range of dining options available at the resort. There’s The Terrace, a 24 hour buffet restaurant next to the infinity pool and Tides, an excellent seafood restaurant on the beach. For classic cocktails, tasty tapas and light bites, head to the gorgeously laid-back Skybar or appropriately named The Bar, located between the main lobby and the terrace. Facilities at this special clifftop resort range from two beautiful freshwater infinity pools overlooking the Arabian Sea, a sandy private beach, tennis, badminton and beach volleyball as well as yoga, and a florist and gift shop in the lobby. Finally, as befits all top Southern Indian resorts, the Leela has a superb Ayurveda and wellness spa.
