South Africa has long been a popular destination for those seeking more than just a one-stop holiday. With such a range of landscapes, it’s a place that demands exploring. Begin with vibrant Cape Town, voted Best City in the World in 2016 by The Telegraph, where a lively cultural and restaurant scene vies for your attention with the awesome spectacle of nature that Table Mountain and the Cape Peninsula provide. Then, head out towards the Winelands where, eponymously, some of the world’s greatest wines are produced. After your literal fill, make for Sabi Sands Game Reserve, where you’ll enjoy twice-daily game drives in one of the best safari spots in Africa.

Depart the UK

At the airport relax in a premium lounge before departing on your overnight flight to Cape Town.

Explore Cape Town’s celebrated sights and surrounds

Arrive into Cape Town where a private transfer will bring you to your boutique city-centre hotel, just a stone's throw from the boutiques of fashionable Kloof Street. Over the next few days, the alluring sights of Table Mountain, Robben Island, the V&A Waterfront and the Cape Peninsula will fill your time – we’ve included a cable car ride to Table Mountain’s summit, and a private tour of Cape Peninsula, where you’ll find the region’s most spectacular scenery, from the Twelve Apostles to Lion’s Head.

And, as you make your way around the city, you’ll find no shortage of excellent restaurants choose from, with the gourmet street food and fine fining of the V&A to the chic bars of Camps Bay – the perfect spot for a sunset cocktail.

About the itinerary

"This itinerary covers our favourite spots and the must-sees. What could be better than taking the cable car up Table Mountain for stunning views of Cape Town, the rugged coastline and rolling hills or tasting the delicious wine in the lovely Winelands region? But the ultimate experience has to be the wild cats in the exclusive Sabi Sands Game Reserve, where you can find leopards asleep on tree branches or a pride of lions readying themselves for their nightly hunt"
