Discover the laid-back rhythm, vibrant culture and untamed beauty of Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast on this all-encompassing adventure. Journey from Tortuguero’s wildlife-rich waterways, renowned for their spectacular biodiversity and nesting sea turtles, to the colourful seaside town of Puerto Viejo, celebrated for its easy-going atmosphere and Afro-Caribbean culture. Your exploration of this lesser-visited coastline is complemented by forays into Costa Rica’s wild heart, from admiring the magnificent Arenal volcano to immersing yourself in the rainforests of Pacuare Reserve. Along the way, balance adventure such as white-water rafting and hiking volcanic trails with time on Caribbean beaches and access to some of the country’s most awe-inspiring landscapes. All while staying in eco-luxury hideaways and savouring fresh, flavor-packed Costa Rican cuisine.
Upon arrival in Costa Rica’s captivating capital, San José, a private transfer whisks you to the lush Central Valley, where mist-shrouded hills are striped with coffee plants. Settle into your junior suite at Finca Rosa Blanca, a characterful boutique hideaway set on an organic coffee plantation and surrounded by tropical gardens. Ease into the country’s slower rhythm with a dip in the spring-fed pool, a restorative coffee-and-cacao scrub in the spa, or a sunset cocktail on your terrace as fireflies flicker in the dusk.
This evening, dine at the on-site farm-to-table restaurant, where Latin-inspired dishes showcase seasonal, organic produce, much of it sourced from the farm itself – the perfect prelude to your Costa Rican adventure.
Start your day with breakfast at the finca paired, naturally, with some of Costa Rica’s finest coffee. Then a private transfer carries you from the Central Valley to Arenal Volcano National Park, the country’s famed ‘adventure capital’.
Home for the next two nights is Amor Arenal, a luxurious rainforest hideaway on the foothills of the iconic volcano. Each standalone casita has floor-to-ceiling glass and a wraparound deck with a thermally heated plunge pool and stunning views over the rainforest and volcanic peak.
Spend the afternoon following jungle trails, joining a yoga class above the canopy or working out with valley views. Then, sip a cocktail at the swim-up bar or relax on your terrace, watching macaws and toucans flit between the trees.
