Highlights

  • Stay in luxury in your own thatched-roof villa
  • Choose from several unique dining options
  • Swim and snorkel in the pristine Turtle Bay
  • Indulge at one of Mauritius' most luxurious spas

Enjoying one of Mauritius' best locations, The Oberoi sits directly on the powder-white shores of natural marine park Turtle Bay. Individual thatched-roof villas – many with private terraces and pools – scatter the resort and offer a wonderful sense of privacy surrounded by lush tropical gardens. Then, days are spent being as active or relaxed as you like, from exploring the reef on glass-bottomed boat rides to indulgent spa treatments. Come evening, expect authentic Creole cuisine and fresh seafood under the stars before nightcaps at the 18th-century French bar or beachfront hut, with unique experiences like communal suppers by the fire pit and private dining on the beach on offer.

In more detail

All villas are individually set up with traditional thatched roofs and natural color themes, offering private terraces, panoramic ocean views and sunken marble bathrooms, many with private outdoor dining spaces. The Luxury Villas mix in private heated swimming pools and multiple bedrooms, or for true indulgence opt for the sprawling ceilings and exquisite detailing of a Presidential or Royal Villa, with direct beach access, two-three bedrooms, two private dining pavilions and private pools.

Atop volcanic rocks, On The Rocks offers a truly unique dining experience, the likes of fresh lobster and barbecued beef bao buns on offer – or opt for your own personal catch, cooked exactly how you like it. Creole and Indian fusions – think wagyu beef and fresh mahi mahi – come together at aptly-named The Restaurant, framed by flaming torches and ocean views. Finish off the night at the 18th-century, French colonial-style Gunpowder Room – which can also be hired for private dinners – or the beachfront thatched-roof bar, accompanied nightly by a live pianist. For an extra-special dining experience, be sure to book dinner at The Herb Trail, a twice-weekly, communal al fresco dinner by an underground fire pit and smoke house for the likes of smoked meat, seafood sharing platters and firepit-cooked lamb.

Unsurprisingly, The Oberoi offers a fantastically extensive choice of leisure activities, from scuba diving and glass-bottomed boat rides to parasailing and tai chi lessons. Just be sure you don't miss an indulgence at The Spa's luxurious spa suites and private jacuzzis alongside all the classic treatments.
