In more detail

Tucked away along a historic railway once used to transport gold in the 19th century, Selati Lodge is set within the renowned Sabi Sabi Game Reserve and places guests at the heart of one of South Africa’s most wildlife‑rich regions, where the Big Five roam freely across vast tracts of pristine bushveld. Easily accessed by scheduled charter flights from Johannesburg or via a scenic overland journey, the lodge offers both convenience and a sense of true wilderness immersion.

The lodge’s eight thatched suites are thoughtfully positioned beneath a canopy of indigenous trees. Each suite features opulent furnishings, en‑suite bathrooms and private outdoor showers. The Ivory Presidential Suite delivers colonial grandeur with its private plunge pool, expansive terrace and four‑poster beds, while the Lourenco Marques Suite provides an intimate, romantic setting ideal for honeymooners.

Dining at Selati Lodge is a celebration of South African flavours and warm hospitality. Mornings begin with freshly baked breads, homemade preserves and hearty regional dishes, while lunches and dinners are served either in the charming farmhouse‑style kitchen or around the atmospheric open‑air boma set on the riverbed. Under lantern light and star‑studded skies, meals become memorable occasions that capture the spirit of safari living.

Days unfold in the company of expert rangers and trackers, whose deep knowledge of the bush brings each game drive and guided walk to life. Guests can expect close‑up encounters with leopard, elephant, rhino, antelope and a wealth of birdlife, all viewed from the comfort of a 4x4 safari vehicle.
