Elewana Tortilis Camp is built along the curve of a low hillside, its thatched lounge, bar and dining areas opening out to uninterrupted views of Kilimanjaro. The camp’s spacious tents are set on raised wooden decks for privacy and outlook. Inside, you’ll find comfortable beds, en‑suite bathrooms with steaming hot showers and a wide veranda that becomes your own front‑row seat to Amboseli’s wildlife. It’s classic safari living: elegant, unfussy and deeply connected to the environment.
Amboseli is world‑renowned for its elephants, and Tortilis is one of the best places to see them. The ecosystem is home to over a thousand individuals, including some of Africa’s largest, often seen against the backdrop of Kilimanjaro. Alongside elephants, you’ll have the chance to encounter lion, cheetah, hyena, giraffe, zebra and prolific birdlife, all brought to life by highly trained guides whose knowledge of the area is exceptional. Between activities, the camp’s facilities offer a welcome pause. There’s a swimming pool with sweeping views of Kilimanjaro, shaded loungers for lazy afternoons and a small spa offering massages and wellness treatments. Dining is fresh, wholesome and beautifully presented, with much of the produce sourced from the camp’s own organic garden. Expect vibrant salads, grilled meats, homemade breads and flavourful international dishes, served al fresco on the terrace or in the atmospheric thatched dining room.
