This remarkable trip sees you explore the stunning region of Newfoundland & Labrador, the often-overlooked province of Canada that's just as beautiful as its big-name neighbours. You'll start among St John's' colourful row houses and winding cobbles before picking a private helicopter transfer takes you to the stunning Fogo Island where you'll stay in the five-star eponymous Inn. Enjoy a wealth of activities based around the seven unique seasons of the island, from berry foraging and whale watching to bonfire barbecues and wildlife walks. It's all done alongside rooftop hot tubs and saunas before you enjoy ultra-fresh produce plucked straight from outside's wilds in the spectacular dining room and folk music evenings among the cosy fireplaces of the lounge.


Day 1

UK to St John's

After starting your trip in style with complimentary, VIP airport lounge access, take your flight from the UK to St John's. Upon your arrival in St. John’s, you will be met and transferred to accommodation in downtown St. John’s. Located within a National Historic  You're just moments form the famously colourful and buzzing George Street, then back at the hotel enjoy drinks and the Gypsy Tea restaurant with a menu focusing on the freshest seafood available, prime cuts of meat and an extensive collection of international wines. Enjoy a short sightseeing orientation tour of the city. We recommend booking a table at the renowned restaurants such as Mallard Cottage, Portage, Merchant Tavern or Terre.

Day 2

Private Sightseeing | St John's

After breakfast perhaps visit Signal Hill National Historic Site and Cabot Tower, which have overlooked the St. John’s harbour since 1897; Quidi Vidi Village, where if you have time we recommend a visit to Quidi Vidi Brewery, famous for brewing beer with iceberg water, or walk the colourful streets of St. John’s.

Day 3

St. John's to Fogo Island Inn | Private Charter Helicopter

Depart St. John’s today by private helicopter transfers to Fogo Island Inn, including airport transfer. This scenic 75 minute helicopter transfer will take you over the Bonavista Peninsula and across Hamilton Sound. Between June and July, icebergs can be seen floating in the water north of the mainland. Upon arrival, you will be met by Fogo Island staff to the Inn. Set amongst the rugged landscape on the ancient rocks of the Back Western Shore, Fogo Island Inn stands out like a beacon in the rocks and offers a sense of hospitality and welcome that only a tiny island can. This stunning design hotel is all innovative, Scandi design that looks over craggy grey rocks; a place where seven seasons are the basis for a wealth of wonderful activities. Enjoy three nights here on a full board basis, enjoying free use of bikes and storm weather gear. It's Atlantic cod that's the crowning glory here, best explored with fishery tours, then depending on which season you visit, from March's pack ice to September's berries, enjoy fireside barbecues on the rocks, wildlife walks, seabird and whale watching, sandy cove walks with the resident Newfoundland dogs and foraging for berries. If the weather won't comply, there's also an exercise room, cinema and heritage library. Warm up on the fourth floor rooftop Scandi-esque deck with wood-fired saunas and outdoor hot tubs, then come evening, you'll enjoy meals among the sprawling chandeliers and endless ocean vistas of the rugged Barr’d Islands, bobbing icebergs and breaching whales as you sample the likes of ultra-fresh fish, caribou sausages and quail eggs. Days are perfectly culminated in the intimate bar and lounge where local musicians play folk songs alongside fireplaces, cosy armchairs and a seemingly endless selection of creative cocktails and drinks.

Days 4 – 6

Fogo Island Inn

Fogo Island is big and small—big enough to be interesting, yet small enough to get to know. It has been called a welcoming wilderness. Each of the seven seasons provides a different perspective for getting to know the island and perhaps yourself. With hot summers, snowy winters, spectacular ice season, hopeful spring, trap berth season and the world’s best berry picking in the fall. Beyond three meals a day that are catered to suit your personal preferences, the Inn offers afternoon tea, snacks, a daybreak service at the rise of the sun and if you would like to eat anywhere else on the island, they’ll take care of that too.

All Seasons

There many things to do that can be enjoyed all year-round. Explore the Backwestern Shore, take walks with Make and Break – the Inns Newfoundland dogs, enjoy boatbuilding orientations, craft programs, stargazing, a trip to Change Island, a day with the chef, bread making and Fogo Island Inn architecture. Exercise in the fitness room, relax and recharge in the rooftop sauna, partake in an immersion in art, learn about outport furniture traditions and visit the very special Oliver’s Cove.

Spring | May

Spring is the perfect time for hiking, walking, ambling and backpacking. As well as iceberg watching, seabird watching (from the water or shore), rowing punts, a harbour punt tour, epic gales & waves, beach walking & rock collecting, bonfire nights, gardens & root cellars, caribou watching, bicycling and seal watching.

Trap Berth | June

In Trap Berth season enjoy hiking, walking, ambling and backpacking. As well as an orientation to the fisheries, smoking fish, iceberg watching, seabird watching, rowing punts, a harbour punt tour, skipping stones, visits to Little Fogo Islands, beach walking & rock collecting, flowers, bonfire nights, gardens & root cellars and bicycling.

Summer | July – August

In the summer you can enjoy hiking, walking, ambling and backpacking. As well as an orientation to the fisheries, smoking fish, iceberg watching, foraging for mushrooms, berry picking, visits to little Fogo Islands, seabird watching, rowing punts, a harbour punt tour, skipping stones, beach walking & rock collecting, touring the local museums, ocean fishing, an Indian Island bake apple excursion, pond fishing or trouting, flowers, mussel digging, capelin scooping, bonfire nights, gardens & root cellars, ocean swimming, music festivals, Sandy Cove Beach, bicycling and ocean kayaking.

BERRY | September – October

Berry season is another beautiful time for hiking, walking, ambling and backpacking. You can also enjoy an orientation to the fisheries, bottling & canning, smoking fish, foraging for mushrooms, berry picking, visits to little Fogo Islands, seabird watching, rowing punts, a harbour punt tour, skipping stones, beach walking & rock collecting, ocean fishing, pond fishing or trouting, bonfire nights, gardens & root cellars, caribou watching, the Northern lights, Sandy Cove Beach, bicycling and ocean kayaking.

After breakfast, depart Fogo Island today by private helicopter, to Gander and the airport to take your flight to London via St Johns, arriving on day eight.
